The Future of iChurch

Dear iChurch Webmaster,

Over recent months you may have been aware that I have been continuing to look after the iChurch project, in a fixed-term contract, ending today (31st August). I am pleased to be able to update you now with the latest news, which is that:

  1. I will continue in this capacity for a further three months, serving as iChurch Project Officer until 30th November.
  2. During this extended period, the URC will put into place structures and staffing to ensure that iChurch continues to be supported beyond that date. This means that a vacancy will be announced shortly – if you know of anyone who might be interested in applying for such a position, please ask them to look out for the job adverts.
  3. The iChurch project will now become part of the work of the Communications Committee of the United Reformed Church.

Over the next few months I will be working to bring everything as up-to-date as possible, and to ensure that there is a robust platform and a thorough handover, to help maintain the stability of iChurch during the transition period. I will of course also be available for ongoing support during this time, so if you have any questions, thoughts or comments, either about this update or about the management of your site, please feel free to get in touch with me, as always. You can post here on the forum section of the support site, or you can email me at

In the meantime, if you have any particular requests for resource materials (or anything else) that I haven’t yet made available as part of the iChurch toolkit, let me know now, and, if possible, I will try to produce some more stuff in the time remaining.
