Making Friends With Search Engines

I’ve been meaning to do this for ages, so I’m very pleased to be able to announce that I’ve created a new iChurch helpsheet for you, this time on the subject of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). It’s something that often seems scary, and perhaps a bit mystical, to beginners, but actually, it’s not really very difficult at all. The main thing you need to do is to to ensure you post engaging, relevant content that people read on your site – this is what the search engines look for.

The helpsheet begins by translating some of those terrifying ‘techy’ terms that you may have heard, and been put off by, and then gives some basic steps you can take to make your site likely to do well in search results. It’s designed for people who have very little, or none at all, ‘expert’ knowledge, and is written with iChurch webmasters in mind. I hope you find it helpful.

You can access the helpsheet at the bottom of the ‘Resources’ page of the main iChurch site: http://interactivechurch.org.uk/resources-2/
